There's a better app called rogue for android. I suggest you see how they did things to helps improve this app, it's incredibly clunky & not enough done to translate from pc game to touch phone app

No explanation as to how to switch between games. Clunky android keyboard takes up a third of the screen in portrait view in addition to shrinking the game screen so much I have to squint even on a giant edge+. Landscape offers a nice zoomed in view but your stats have to be scrolled to after every action and the keyboard becomes inaccessible. All in all a terrible port.

Thank you Angdroid.org! The interface takes some getting used to but these games are pure gems. Maybe now the next generation can have access to and finally learn to appreciate these golden classics of yesteryear. ###@###

Near impossible to play if you are new to this. Also too small.

the only feature i'd like to see is the pinch zoom and the options for tilesets that you get from the nethack for android app. that being said, these games are way better and these ports are pretty great. screw nethack.

The game plays almost like the old thing. The low end graphics are nice for low battery drain.

I am not sure what is wrong. Screen displays very small. Keyboard disappears. Quits very slowly. This should not be so resource taxing. Sgs 3

True to the old style of game. Totally impractical without a keyboard, or an ipad with a bigger screen. What are the keys?

The most immediate and glaring problem is the keyboard interface. While the keyboard interface is part of Rogue's history, and there are at least thirty possible commands, seventeen of them relating to moving and running, there has to be a more practical interface than just using a bulky touch keyboard that takes up a third of the screen. If you hold the Android normally, you have to squint to see the tiny play area. If you hold it sideways, you either have to scroll to the bottom of the screen after every turn of combat to see how close to death you are (if you're character is near the top of the screen) or you need to constantly scroll to the top to read game notifications (if you're near the bottom). When adapting to a different platform, one needs to design around that platform's limitations; in this case, the small screen and lack of keyboard, not just directly port a controls-intensive game to a smartphone and hope for the best.

The keyboard interface doesn't translate well to touchscreen play, but this is a good and functional port of some fun classics.

Either you love it, or don't get it. I like this better than the original because it automatically labels scrolls/potions when you drink the first one. I just beat the game for the second time in my life (been playing since 1984) and when i started it up again i had my old character,- it was like i never finished. This happen to anyone else? I hope it resets, but for now i think i will go down
