Calculator with History Tape

The good: The design was exactly what I was looking for; a large history screen and big buttons, without having to use a desktop tape calculator. The bad: I have seen two glaring calculation errors while multiplying decimals. I don't understand how that could happen, but it renders it completely unusable for me. Thank goodness the errors were easy to spot.

I'll add a few numbers and get an answer that's wrong by some round number. I'll redo the calculation and it's right. I entered 1872+1296 and got 2168. I repeated the calculation and got 3168. I can't trust this app in situations where I'm unable to do a sanity check.

I was looking for one with history viewing and yours is the best so far. Now if I make a mistake I can see, no need to count whole stack of bills all over again! Thanks!

Have been using this for years on 3 different phones, still works on S5. Algebraic evaluation. Occasional glitches when you delete a line that has already been entered. I don't use the % key at all.

I play with others but strangely keep coming back to this one, despite the glitchiness with the DEL and percent keys. I like that an entire equation can fit on one line and that several lines are visible without swiping or tapping to another page to see history. It would sure be nice if you would fix the glitches in the thing.

I love this calculator, but it stopped working on my nexus 7 and Galaxy s3. Doesn't register button presses.

Great. Works as advertised. Would love to be able to save the tape between sessions.

Functionality is a major problem on Nexus 5. After a few calculations, the = button would not process the answer, making it useless. Fix this problem, and it's a great simple calculator with history, which is what I'm looking for.

The only bad thing about this app is its icon. Looks blurry and it has pixelated edges on Nexus 5. I would be happy to redesign it :)

This tiny 22k app with a minimalist grey on black UI is just the way I like it. The buttons are just the right size and has parentheses! I didn't like the bright color layout and small buttons of Office Calculator which mirrors a real tape calculator better bit was generating too many rows of figures whereas this little app is more of an algebraic tape calculator. I tried Mobi calc which didn't work for me as it was generating the history in a separate screen. Tried Easy Calculator but didn't like the color scheme on the buttons and the history was in a separate window. Also looked at Tape Calculator Pro but didn't like the color scheme. I lean towards minimalist dark background designs. Strangely I find this free app far better aesthetically and functionally than any of the paid ones. The only thing I would change is remove the title heading and alter the button colors to white text on black background and it would be perfect... for me at least.

Simple percentage operations are performed incorrectly. Eg 5% is always take as 0.05 regardless of what number it is acting on. 300+5% should NOT yield 300.05

Perfect! Clean, black, simple interface. Scrollable ticker. Fast and accurate, no ads! Best calculator on the market, please don't change it ever :)

Well, not updated since 2010, and I'm still using this app :-) I did a quick search in the app store and there does not seems to be another app with this simple, efficient history on screen function. Why Fix It If It Ain't Broken :-)

Excellent. Just what I was looking for. History tape and paranthesis. It's also very easy on the eyes.

You need to sort out the percent function ,then it would be great calculator.

I like the memory function but if I do something else on the phone and open it back up it doesn't actually save anything. Why is it so hard to find a calculator app that saves every calculation?

It crash if you make an operation and ask for the answer without a number example 3+3+3=9 3+3+= it crash and another thing is that if you make a long operation the result will be split on the line,but this calculator is unique,doesn't exist another one with tape history,so...

Finally found a straightforward calculator app. Great job with the update to replace the commar to decimal point! Great job!
