About LensDroid Mud Client

LensDroid is a MUD Client built around Lensmoor. It has JavaScript support for scripting complex functions, as well as sending output directly to the MUD.

You can add multiple "Worlds" as well in the worlds menu using the hostname and port of the MUD you want to connect to.

Features:
MCCP Support
Triggers
Aliases
Timers
JavaScript built in for processing scripts
Multiple Windows, one for main output and one for logging
Change ANSI Colors
HTML Logging

Triggers/Aliases can use Regular Expressions or $w (word) $* (all text) $c (single character) $d (digit) in the match.

Capture groups test can be replaced in the output by using $1, $2, $3, etc for as many capture groups as there is. $0 will contain the entire line matched.

When using Timers you will want to ensure that you enable "Keep Phone Active" in the Power Settings in the Menu so that timers will keep processing in the background when the phone screen is off for a long period of time.

If you notice that you get disconnected while the screen is off and you were on WiFi this is because WiFi turns off after a period of time in sleep mode, to keep it on you can get under Power Settings in the menu and enable the "Keep Wifi Active" feature.

If you run into a problem while using the client you can go into the settings and enable Debugging and try and reproduce the error and use the Send Log button to send me the log directly for review.

What's Changed
* Added "Keep Text on Enter" to the Input Options. Makes it so when you hit enter the text is saved on the buffer.
* Added "Highlight Saved Text" to the Input Options to compliment the Keep Text by highlighting the saved text.
* Added "Command Split" to the Input Options. This will make it so commands can be separated by semicolons when being entered. A space needs to surround the semicolon. (Ex: look ; who ; tell bob Hi! ;) ) will look then who, and then send a tell to bob with a winky face.

No menu softkey, app randomly comes alive in the background and eats battery like crazy. It's just too out of date on Android 6.0, which is sad as it was the only good mudclient with scripting.

I am truly disappointed with this game. I researched for three days and really got drawn into this game and after I start in informed my name Starchyld note spelling not star child was not allowed by game standards during a two word name. Starchyld is two cylables yes not words. Starchyld is me my tag my alias it's me so a game I truly was looking forward to I can't play unless I change who I am since no consideration and item minded ppl look out side the box. Starchyld is a mythical magical being consumed in learning unconventional methods to prevail in battle, support and protect the ones around with honor and integrity and loyalty, often misunderstood by many and truly known by few. Again Starchyld is me. Very huge let down as from what I can tell this role play game was just what I was looking for but not being able to be myself and told you use real names when I even named my son that is 4 years old now Starchyld so yes it's real name I find myself in a position that is very very disturbing as what your mud is based on seems totally conflicted by this issue.

Everytime I make a trigger it not only force closes the connection it force closes the app... and before you can reconnect to a server you have to uninstall the app and reinstall it before it works again.please fix this bug. Thanks. Very annoying.

good app and good UI, but unfortunately it doesn't support changing encoding...I'm play game with GBK

I wish it had more help with the commands somewhere.. and maybe should have a highlight option or something.. took me a long time to figure out the capture feature.. really is no help with trigs and commands...for everyone without a menu key. Just search "menu button on screen" download menu button (no root)... works well and you can access the menu in lensdroid

I love this app and all the options provided. On my Galaxy Tab S2, scrolling up and down is extremely laggy and basically useless. If this could be fixed, very easy 5 stars.

For not apperent reason and it happens often, fix thus issue and I'll rate higher

For some reason it now crashes if my phone autorotates when I set it down. Very weird, and confirmed not to happen if I disable that feature. HTC Desire 626s, Android 5.1

C70%

Top 1 MUD client for me! Perfect, expect for logging words between angular brackets, where the client probably interprets them as tags.

Worked great on galaxy 6, but doesn't work on s7. Can't access the menu!

This app seems like it could challenge Blowtorch with a little work. Well done on the logging; I was glad to see it and impressed when I saw it was in html. The command buffer is poorly implemented. It has several times erased a long post I was typing while I was trying to get the cursor back on the end of the sentence (fix that too), and it's hard to tell it's even in. Make it more like Blowtorch's.

X70%
by X####:

No idea if it was failing to connect to the MUD as there were no error messages and no output. Just a black screen with a single line across the bottom. Edit: Updated score to reflect the recent change that would have notified me that the reason nothing was working was that I had the wrong MUD address! So the original problem was user error compounded by a lack of feedback or error messages!

T70%
by T####:

Very reliable connection, but writting displayed is to small. Would get a five if its writting was larger. I can not figure out how to access the apps settings to change font size

T70%

Current version has a bug where I cannot find or get to the settings.

It's just like Blowtorch, You can connect to a mud once or twice before you have to start killing processes and rebooting the phone because the application fails to reconnect.

I wish it had more help with the commands somewhere.. what is the bell command?? and maybe should have a highlight option or something.. took me a long time to figure out the capture feature.. really is no help with trigs and commands ].

With most droids ditching the menu button there is no way to access settings. Booooooo. Update your app. I recommend mukluk or blowtorch. Both have pros and cons but are ultimately far better than the prehistoric lensdroid. It's a shame too. If they updated the settings access this could probably be a #1 mud client. 1 star until something changes.

If the screen goes dark or sleeps, the app stops refreshing the screen, regardless of which settings you used. You're still connected and can send input, but there's no longer any output. No idea why. I'll have to look elsewhere.

I use it to play 3 Kingdoms & 3Scapes. Aliases, triggers, cardinal direction arrows for easy movement, adjustable font size.. I dig it. Update: I have noticed that this app burns through my battery life mighty fast.. Seems like it should use less than most, not more.

Physical menu buttons have been deprecated since 2011. I guess I can rate it properly once there's a version that works on modern devices.

Every time I receive a text this client stops working. It doesn't disconnect me, it just stops. I see the echo of my commands and that's it. It's not the only client that does it but, this is a huge flaw. ZTE Supreme.

C70%
by C####:

Great and stable client, but hard to script without any documentation at all. Even the website is down :-(

R70%
by R####:

I was really hoping for something that would combine the best of mukluk and blowtorch... It's probably better than blowtorch for MUDers, but what I wanted was a client that supported both multiple connections and triggers (so that I can be alerted to activity when I'm in another window). This one looks promising but I'm back to Mukluk until someone invents a client with both of these functionalities!

R70%
by R####:

Text is very small, on both tablet and phone.

G70%

There is no menu softkey button to be able to access the settings on this application. With so many phones doing away with menu keys, a softkey is critical to be able to use this application!

I like it, but the option to add and remove buttons like blowtorch would be nice.
